Look, I get it. The news cycle can be exhausting. After 25 years covering everything from breaking news to late-night shifts at WCBS 880, I started this little podcast for folks like me who still want to know what's happening in the world - including the lighter stuff.
Dumb criminals, funny mishaps and those stories that remind you people are basically ridiculous in the best possible way.
Plus, I throw in some parody commercials and music from my late father "Slammy Sammy" Putney's radio days. It's growing slowly but surely, and I hope you'll give it a listen.

I'm Levon Putney, and honestly, I never thought I'd be doing a podcast.
I spent nearly two decades at New York's WCBS 880, where I had the honor of delivering their final live newscast when the station changed formats in August 2024. Before that, I worked my way up from Missouri to Cleveland to Manhattan - the usual radio journey, you know?
HERE'S THE THING: AFTER COVERING SERIOUS NEWS FOR 25+ YEARS, I REALIZED THERE'S A WHOLE WORLD OF STORIES OUT THERE THAT ARE JUST . . . FUN.
Weird crime that makes you shake your head, animal antics that crack you up, bureaucratic blunders that remind you we're all just figuring it out as we go.
